Seeking a seasoned and deeply technical Senior Product Manager to lead the vision and execution for core components of our Video Data Platform. This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on building the foundational data services that power Gracenote’s entire video product portfolio. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with engineering and architecture teams to define and deliver the APIs, data models, and content pipelines that shape the future of entertainment discovery for hundreds of millions of consumers globally.
Responsibilities
Platform Strategy: Execute the product roadmap for key components of the video data platform that source data from multiple disparate sources to power Gracenote’s Video data APIs.
Technical Product Ownership: Translate complex business and platform-level requirements into detailed technical specifications, data contracts, data schemas, and user stories. Serve as the dedicated Product Owner for one or more agile engineering teams, guiding sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management.
Stakeholder Management: Function as the primary technical product liaison between the platform team and internal stakeholders, including data product managers responsible for external product offerings that power TV entertainment solutions for the top cable, OTT, CE, and digital clients worldwide.
Architecture & Design: Partner closely with Principal Engineers and Architects to influence system design and architecture, ensuring technical solutions are scalable, reliable, and align with the long-term product vision.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize quantitative data, system metrics, and customer feedback to define success criteria, inform prioritization, and manage a complex set of competing initiatives.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of technical product management experience with a proven track record of delivering large-scale backend platforms or data-intensive products.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to a variety of audiences, from engineering teams to executive leadership.
Possesses strong systems-thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex distributed architectures and anticipate downstream dependencies.
Hands-on proficiency in writing SQL to perform data analysis.
Strong experience working with data formats and APIs, particularly XML, JSON, and REST APIs.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
Direct experience working with structured entertainment metadata from providers such as Gracenote, ROVI/TiVo, RedBee, or others.
An MBA or a Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
