What You’ll Do
As a Product Manager at Wednesday, you’ll lead 0-to-1 product development efforts for our clients — often founders or early product teams trying to build from scratch or unlock traction.
This is not a classic delivery PM role. You’ll be responsible for shaping the product, not just shipping it. You’ll run discovery, define the roadmap, manage the delivery process, and communicate with clients on a near-daily basis.
You’ll work closely with design and engineering leads to turn ideas into working software — especially in the context of AI-enabled products.
Your Responsibilities
Discovery & Product Strategy
- Lead discovery workshops to unpack client goals, user pain points, and market realities.
- Define product scope and user journeys before a single line of code is written.
- Translate business problems into sharp product direction using frameworks like JTBD, opportunity trees, etc.
Execution & Delivery
- Create and prioritize backlogs, define success metrics, and run weekly sprints.
- Manage trade-offs between scope, speed, and technical constraints — while still shipping value every sprint.
- Facilitate agile rituals (standups, retros, sprint reviews) across cross-functional teams.
Client Partnership
- Act as the main point of contact for the client — building trust through clarity, responsiveness, and insight.
- Push back when needed, guide conversations toward real outcomes, and help clients make tough decisions.
Product Thinking
- Ask hard questions: Do we need this feature? Does this solve a real user pain? Is this the fastest way to test the idea?
- Turn ambiguous ideas into testable hypotheses, and back decisions with data when available.
AI-Native Mindset
- Be comfortable working with teams building AI-enabled products — from LLM-powered workflows to automation tools.
- You don’t need to code models, but you must understand the possibilities and limitations of current AI tech.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of product management experience, preferably within a digital services or consulting environment.
- Proven track record of taking at least one product from concept to launch (0–1), ideally in a client-facing setting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders, including founders and engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to translate abstract client objectives into actionable roadmaps and product deliverables.
- Experience working on or adjacent to AI or data-driven products, with an understanding of their unique challenges and opportunities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a strong grasp of scope, budgeting, and timeline management, while maintaining strategic oversight.
- Proficiency with modern product and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Notion, and Figma.
Benefits
